Humanitarians know that America was founded on “legal” immigration and believe anyone should be allowed to make America their permanent home, but by going through the proper legal procedures to do so.
- We need to protect our borders to stop “illegal” immigration
- No welfare for people who are not citizens
- Incentives for companies that hire legal immigrants active in the naturalization process
The Proposed Immigration Amnesty Law
The proposed immigration amnesty by the current administration would benefit the 12 to 20 million undocumented immigrants and would forgive their acts of illegal immigration, it implicitly forgives other related illegal acts such as driving and working with false documents.
- Create Secure Borders
- Improve our Immigration System
- Bring people out of the shadows
- Remove Incentives to Enter Illegally
“We’re going to make them pay a fine, they are going to have to learn English, they are going to have to go to the back of the line…but they will have a pathway to citizenship over the course of 10 years.” President Barack Obama
This proposal sounds a little out of touch, because immigrants usually don’t have enough money to live let alone pay fines. But there must to be an ethical pathway to citizenship.
The Humanitarian Party Proposed Immigration Law
Every illegal immigrant would be required to register for the naturalization process. There would be a 5 – 10 year plan for each immigrant to complete their naturalization process.
- Improve border security by use of all available technology (Personnel, Drones, Structures, Cameras, etc..)
- Immigrants register with the naturalization department upon entry into the United States
- Put in place a system allowing companies to hire immigrants that are active in the naturalization process
Dear Laura – Every journey begins with the first step so where do we begin ? Naturally in a perfect world anyone aspiring to be a true blue humanitarian would agree we should all have the right to be free. For now, the Humanitarian Party’s approach is practical. In time I hope we can all work together, expanding our positive forces to unite all countries in the western hemisphere. Let’s take a leadership role to seek agreements between countries on our side of the world & assign the U.S Army core of engineers to build us all a highway from the top of Alaska to the bottom of South America. Under this plan, the new shared borders become the Atlantic & Pacific ocean. The U.S Navy would then be the honored protectors of our shared borders.. Charity begins at home.
True humanitarianism does not discriminate against people no matter where they are from or how they got there. We should provide welfare for anyone that needs it and have a job for them when they sign up … that is humanitarian. I believe in a world with open boarders, which would take more than my lifetime of world peace, however, all of humanity should be able to live and travel where they want, the planet belongs to all of us. Birthright citizenship should be a right and should stay. Yes, put in place a system allowing companies to hire immigrants and illegal immigrants, which will bring these people to the surface and start the process to become legal. Trim line the immigration process … our bureaucracy is ridiculous!
